Lilyanne Schwarz-Peterson (Lily to those who know her well, Lilyanne when things get serious) is a recent Belmont University graduate, having received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre Directing. Originally from Larkspur, Colorado, she now resides in Nashville, Tennessee, where she enjoys hiking, baking, traveling, and reading. When not immersed in theatre, she can usually be found spending time with her husband, doting on her cat, or getting lost in a good book—currently Just Stab Me Now by Jill Bearup.
Her most recent directorial project was The 39 Steps at Belmont University, one of her favorite plays to date. She has stage managed productions including SIX: Teen Edition with Source One Five and Lightning Girl! at Darkhorse Theatre, directed by Shawn Whitsell. Most recently, she assistant directed Nashville Repertory Theatre’s production of Come From Away and a youth production of Beetlejuice Jr. She is currently working as a production assistant with Studio Tenn for their production of Dracula and will return for White Christmas later this season.
Lily’s top three favorite musicals are Phantom of the Opera, Lucky Stiff, and Hairspray, while her favorite plays include Twelfth Night, Information for Foreigners, and The 39 Steps. In addition to directing and stage managing, she has taken acting classes with CJ Tucker and Shawn Knight, stage combat with Eric Pasto-Crosby, and has introductory experience in costume and set design.
